In Pfeffenhausen, the test operation of the delivery of grid-compatible green hydrogen has commenced. With immediate effect, this hydrogen will be supplied to filling stations in the districts of Munich and Ebersberg. The HyPerformer region HyBayern is to be fully operational by the end of 2024 and will help to save 4,500 tonnes of CO2 annually.
On 14 October, a trailer filled with more than 1,200 kilograms of grid-compatible green hydrogen generated in Pfeffenhausen was sent on its way to the administrative district of Munich. The hydrogen production plant in Pfeffenhausen is now in a test phase and, if all remaining improvements can be completed, is scheduled to commence regular operations at the end of 2024. At the beginning of September, green hydrogen was produced on site for the first time and filled into a trailer belonging to Hy2B Wasserstoff GmbH.

With immediate effect, MVV’s regional buses in the administrative districts of Ebersberg and Munich will run on this green hydrogen. One trailer load can be used to refuel up to 60 buses and transport passengers 16,000 km with zero emissions.
